Hyderabad: The FLO Hyderabad Centre of Excellence for Training Women in Modern Vegetable Farming celebrated a significant milestone with a Crop Showcase event held on Saturday at Ravalkore Village near Medchal.
Launched in May 2024, this Centre of Excellence aims to empower women through comprehensive training in the cultivation, management, and harvesting of nearly 50 hybrid varieties of vegetables and greens. The showcase marked the end of the first crop season, where 100 women farmers presented their learnings, techniques, and outcomes to a group of visitors, illustrating their newly acquired skills and achievements.
The event saw the presence of notable figures, including Agripreneur Eatala Kshamita Reddy, FLO Hyderabad Initiative Mentor Shubhraa Maheshwari, FLO Past Chairperson Manjula Reddy, and other senior members of FLO.
This impactful initiative is a collaboration between the FLO Hyderabad Chapter and the East-West Seed Knowledge Transfer Foundation. It equips women farmers from 16 villages with advanced technical skills in commercial vegetable farming, fostering sustainable growth and economic independence in rural communities. The program emphasizes enhanced productivity, quality, and sustainability in farming practices, alongside sessions on digital and financial literacy, market strategies, and savings.
This project not only uplifts women farmers but also paves the way for long-term self-reliance and prosperity in rural Hyderabad.
